Abscessed Teeth

Abscessed Teeth

When the pulp of a tooth becomes decayed, the pulp will start to swell and pus will begin to build up near the jaw. This situation is referred to as an abscessed tooth. An abscessed tooth can cause more damage in the surrounding areas if left untreated.

The most common method of fixing an abscessed tooth is root canal treatment. In root canal treatment, a dentist will remove the infected tissue and clean the surrounding area. The tooth canal will be sealed and a crown or cap will be placed to restore the tooth.
